A quiet, friendly, family-run park in Cumbria
We are the Fairclough family and are delighted to introduce you to our quiet, tranquil, hidden gem on the Cumbrian border. Our family has owned and run caravan parks for almost 40 years and in August 2025 added High Gaitle to the family’s portfolio. We feel that the perfect position of High Gaitle offers a wonderful opportunity for us to develop a touring and camping park.
meet the Fairclough Family
The Fairclough family currently own Ellington Caravan Park on the Northumberland coastline as well as High Gaitle on the England/Scotland border. The park at Ellington has been in the family for almost 40 years. It was purchased by Christine and Adrian Fairclough before being passed down to their two sons and daughter-in-laws, Stuart & Mel, Neil & Erin.
In our third generation, Steven, Luke, Ellie and Leah make up our family staff compliment. Recently, we have welcomed a 4th generation – baby Maya! As you can see, our business is rooted in family and built with generations of support. This demonstrates our commitment and ethos of maintaining a true family-run business.
BUILT ON FAMILY VALUES
We are passionate about our caravan parks being run by family members. We feel this offers an approachable, personalised experience that other more ‘corporate’ sites are unable to provide. We have a strong foundation of family values with our third generation committed to upholding these as we adapt and grow as a family business.
We are delighted to introduce Steven from our third generation who is undertaking the management of High Gaitle Caravan Park and is living on site all year round.
Steven loves the outdoors and is at his happiest when sat on his grass cutter! He likes meeting new people and is thoroughly enjoying the challenge of his new role here at High Gaitle.
Steven will primarily be supported by Stuart and Mel (his parents) and the rest of the family team as required.
